PURPOSE

This FoodPolicyWiki (FPW?) was developed from a Public Policy class project of Fall 2006 at the University of Vermont. Each student researched current policy tools that impact some aspect of local food production in Vermont. Insights for the class project were provided by the Intervale Center which has a mission to develop farm-and land-based enterprises that generate economic and social opportunity while protecting natural resources.

Our goal for this wiki is 2 fold:

1. To provide a repository and/or portal for information about polices which affect local agriculture.
2. To encourage you to add what you know so that the community interested in local agriculture can benefit.

The job is too big for 1 person or organization, and policies and actors are always changing, so please add what you know.

CONTRIBUTING TO THE SITE

If you want to contribute to this site but are unsure how, don't worry - here is a quick lesson on the nuts and bolts on how to use this site.

The potential scope of this site is enormous. The possible areas of interest are vast. The knowledge required to populate this site is extensive. The initial creators of this site are not experts in every area

So, go ahead, add something, a link, a picture, a logo, an inspiration, but be warned, it's a lot like eating local, in season - once you try it, you'll just want more!
